Creature of Comfort: Holly of decor8

Cofc Holly1{HOLLY'S INSPIRATIONS - board I} Fun & quirky interior details, relaxing in a long hot bath (image from livingetc.com), and ethnic-inspired interiors. (sorry I do not know where 2 of these 3 photos come from).

Today I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity introduce the newest Creature of Comfort: Holly from beloved decor8 blog

Holly is a bright spot of inspiration in the world of blogging!  Not only does she share beautiful content and ideas, but she is a woman who truly motivates and cares deeply for her readers.  I feel so lucky to call Holly my friend... she inspires me and enriches my life in so many ways.  Thanks for just being beautiful wonderful you Holly!  We love you!

Holly2_3{HOLLY'S INSPIRATIONS - board II} Relaxing in my apartment on rainy days, reading Living & More (German), Domino (US), and of course Selvedge (UK). I'm also inspired by 50's lighting right now, you can see my recent eBay win in the middle photo on the bottom - a vintage floor lamp in "Martha Stewart Minty" (green) as I like to call it. I'm forever inspired by trees and my current favorite wall display is a myriad of vintage and new plates just like this photo from Domino magazine (dominomag.com)

Holly3_2 {HOLLY'S INSPIRATIONS - board III} Audrey Tatou in Liebe um jeden Preis (http://www.amazon.de/Liebe-jeden-Preis-Audrey-Tautou/dp/B001AC6SS0), Keane's Perfect Symmetry CD (www.keanemusic.com), Thomas Godoj (German pop star www.thomas-godoj.de), and I'm really excited to see the upcoming Twilight series (I'm nearly finished with Breaking Dawn, the 4th book in the series, I'm HOOKED www.twilightthemovie.com/)

To read my wee interview with the lovely Holly...

{INTERVIEW WITH HOLLY}
-What is one thing that never fails to inspire you?

Thorsten (silent H), my husband. He protects me from the rain, warms me when I'm cold, holds me when I'm weak, comforts me when I feel completely lost, and he inspires me to live, live, LIVE! I'm also inspired by our weekly walks in the nearby forest, exploring a new city together, listening to music in our apartment when it's cold and rainy outside, and our long conversations that usually end in days of deep thought for me. Outside of Tee, I'm inspired by readers of my blog and fellow bloggers like you Ez! I love your work, your blog, you really inspire me on a daily basis. My online experience wouldn't be the same each day without Creature Comforts. I'm also inspired by the work that comes across my desk each day from the design community -- from furniture designs to independent art, it's extremely motivating and inspirational to be involved in such a forward moving community. I'm also pretty inspired by books and magazines from Domino and Selvedge to Paumes books and beyond. Movies, music, novels, blogs, poetry, museums, my good friends... There is SO much to tap into for inspiration.

-How are you currently incorporating your inspirations into your blog/designs/art?

My blog is always a current reflection of what I'm into so you'll find my current passions within each post. I love blogging not only to be in touch with a global community of talented people, but to share, encourage, and to use it as somewhat of a journal of where I've been and where I'm going with my ideas... I look back regularly at archived posts and say to myself, "Oh yeah, I was really digging that back then wasn't I?" and it never fails to make me smile. I have learned more about myself through blogging.

-What is your favorite indulgence?

Going to see a musical or an intimate concert (not packed stadiums) in a faraway city. My favorite indulgence was the time I flew to London to see Les Miserables (I was 25, on a whim). I met up with my British guy pal and we painted the town. That's another favorite indulgence, whirlwind weekend trips without much of an agenda outside of a plane or train ticket. FUN.

-What are three creature comforts you can't live without?

1.Books, music, movies, and magazines (I know that's four right there!). 2. Living in both the states and in Europe (Germany), the accesses and sheer experience is amazing. 3. Beautiful boutique design shops, I love browsing "special" little stores, especially ones with beautiful vintage finds, art, and pretty papers.

-Do you have a personal motto or words that you live by (quotes and song lyrics are fine too)?

I feel strongly that what you put out into the world eventually comes back to you -- both good and bad behavior has a way of dealing the cards straight back into your hand. It's so important to remember that whenever you are tempted to do something naughty!
